So a God ordained opportunity was presented to me this past weekend. I met a young lady (Age 15), who lives her life publicly as a "Stud". I had the opportunity to spend some time with her and discuss a few things. One of the questions that I asked, What makes you think, at your age, you would want to spend the rest of your life living an alternative lifestyle? After all, she did explain that she grew up in church and she knew "about" God. Her response: "I was raped by my uncle when I was 12 and that solidified my choice and now I hate men." My response: I am truly sorry to hear that this trauma has happened to you. Can I ask you a question? Her Response: Ok My Response: In your relationship are you "playing the role of the male" or are you who you are a female? Her Response: I play the guy My Response: If you hate men then why do you "play the role of a male by dressing, acting and presenting yourself that way?" Her Response: It keeps men from talking to me because I hate what happened to me. My Response: I definitely can understand that thought pattern, but do you understand that Jesus loves you unconditionally, and you were not created to "Play a role but rather to BE who He divinely designed you to be!" Do you understand that He made you perfectly and beautifully the way that He wanted to see His creation through your eyes and through your female mind? Do you understand that attempting to alter that is like telling the One that you "know about", that you don't care what He thinks and that you are going to do things your way? Do you know that He wants to experience His creation in and through you as a female? Her Response: I never thought about it like that. My Response: Would you allow me to share a few more things with you like showing you a few scriptures that reveal that sin is sin, no matter what form it is in, but that you can repent and not just "know about" God, but you can know Him AND have a personal relationship with Him. Her Response: You can explain how I can have a relationship with Jesus? My Response: Sure I can! Her Response: Ok, I am open to learning more and getting to know Him for myself. My Response: I shared a couple of quick scriptures and allowed her to read them for herself, shared the love the Lord with her, asked her to allow me to hold her hand as she opened her mouth to give Him her heart. She is now a Babe in Christ and eager to learn more and have a Real Relationship as a flourishing young woman in the Body of Christ. Her Response: Thank you for not judging. Thank you for making me laugh while we spoke. It helped me to trust and be more comfortable. I will do what you have asked and I will stay in touch for sure. My Response: We are taking the young people from OZIM to the State Fair in a few days, would you like to join us, if you are able to receive parental consent? Her Response: You mean, you all will hang out with me? My Response: Aren't I hanging out with you NOW? Her Response: A look of amazement bcuz it didn't occur to her that we were hanging out. *************** BTW: She is a foster child and she once felt all alone and now she knows for sure that she is not. I returned her to her Foster Parents and this is the text that I received from them last night: "Ethel, Thank you immensely for all you did this weekend. J****** seems touched by your kindness, humor and your faithfulness. The moment I heard your voice I could feel only positivity. I know you are blessed because you are a blessing. Many many Thanks again." Conclusion: God always has a plan to use us even in the most peculiar and unplanned situations. Just be in a posture where you ask the Lord to lead you through whatever and with whomever He has trusted you to encounter. Dr. "J"
